Final Fantasy XIII no longer Sony exclusive!

Bwahaha... that's so funny... and true.

Game You've Beaten The Most Times

I think it's a toss up between Fable and Mass Effect. I still get the urge to trot through Albion every now and again, and usually don't stop until I've beaten it (again). Same goes for Mass Effect. I think I've beaten both games about five times a piece.

    Super Mario Galaxy...failed. GTA IV.....failed.

That's exactly my point, but a lot of die-hard OoT fans like to compare it to today's games, and it just doesn't hold nearly as much weight as it did in 1998. Games have evolved since then, and we should recognize and embrace that.

    Super Mario Galaxy...failed. GTA IV.....failed.

I don't understand why everyone is still obsessed with a ten year old game. It's nice to be nostalgic and have fond memories, but no one here would be able to swallow the archaic gameplay it has. I say archaic because by today's standards, that's exactly what it is. This is also coming from a...

GTA IV = A-? Something wicked this way comes...

I would've given GTA IV an A+ just for including Get Innocuous.

GTA IV = A-? Something wicked this way comes...

They went for drama as opposed to a traditional "The World is Yours" storyline. In this way it was more akin to GTA III than Vice City/San Andreas. I have to say I'm surprised by this review, mainly because I didn't think it would receive such a high score considering the review itself was...

    Where is "The Witcher" review?

I bought the game the other day, and I'm in love with it. It's a fantastic roleplaying game. My gripe (and my PC is top of the line, here) is that after about 45 minutes to an hour of play time, I will enter an area and it will save, and then it will crash. It's really starting to piss me off.

    RE4: The letter

I think the lesson here is, it's Resident Evil. Part of its job is to not make sense.

Do you approve of games in a modern-day war setting

Is there some kind of sensitivity statute that says a movie or book or game can't be released about a subject within a certain time frame? Honestly... I have no problem with Infinity Ward using a modern setting with a modern storyline. The war in Iraq/Afghanistan/Hopefully-never-Iran is...

    Zero Punctuation

For the most part, his reviews are pretty spot on. Even when dissecting games like BioShock, I had to agree with him.

VGA nominations out. No one cares I hope.

I can understand where you're coming from Links, and I think your claims are somewhat validated... but I honestly can't see why they should hold back Mass Effect for being... unpolished? Is that the word? I personally enjoyed the game a great deal. I believe that if a game is good enough so...

    Misunderstood Game Franchises

Manhunt is definitely one of them, read my column on Digital Violence for my thoughts on that. I'm going to say Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is definitely one of them. People complain about the cover system (needs improvement), the aiming (Kane barely has any vision in his right eye, it's going to...

    Game of the Year Nominations

This may come from left field, but I'll go ahead and nominate Kane & Lynch. I've spent the last three hours playing it, and it is godly. It's pretty much the perfect action game with a great cast of characters, great voice work, a solid story, and good gameplay. The only negatives I've found...

Silent Hill 1 or Resident Evil 1?

Silent Hill has always had the stronger plot of the two series. Resident Evil has always been a cheesy B movie romp with Zombies, whether intentional or not I can't really tell. Silent Hill just scared the crap out of me, which is something R.E. never managed to do.

Camping in FPS's: good or bad?

And that's where I disagree with you. People who tend to work and act and communicate like a real team would have designated snipers, grenadiers, heavy arms and scouting parties. There's nothing wrong with setting up a defensive perimeter around your flag or capture point or whatever the...

Is GR planning to review Fire Pro Returns?

The idea behind Fire Pro is that it's not meant to be a spectacle or a glamor shot for pro wrestling. The reason they used updated 2D graphics is because instead of spending an entire development cycle creating pretty, shiny graphics, they focus on the gameplay aspects instead...

how has this not made your news page

I would like to say that the above comic is pretty tasteless. While many gamers have had fantasies like that (probably more so about Ed Boon or John Carmack), it doesn't necessarily need to be in "print", so to speak. Really, all it does is show the lack of creativity. There are many, many...
