No, not quite. For example, I would show this guy Super Mario Bros. To me, that represents exactly what games are about. Whenever I think of games, BOOM, that's what pops into my head. It's completely iconic!
It's a relatively simple game, using just 3 buttons and a d-pad. It's pretty easy to...
Imagine you've made a new friend. The thing is, he's never heard of videogames before. However, you think he'd like them, so you want to show him the right game. The one game that'll make him really love games forever, just like you. Which single videogame would you show him? Which videogame do...
For Rock Band:
- Sweet Child of Mine by GnR
- Much, much more System of a Down.
- All possible Coldplay songs (some songs are just piano, I understand).
For Guitar Hero:
- Screw this fricking franchise, it jumped shark ages ago.
I'm not sure Metroid Prime Trilogy counts, but I can't mention that game enough. It's greatness still blows my mind...besides, the Wii needs more games like it.
If we're mentioning collections, don't ignore the Mega Man, and Mega Man X collections. Also, there's Midway Arcade Treasures 1,2...
Really wish I had a significant other who plays games. Or just a significant other in general...
Both my little sisters like games a lot, but mostly cute stuff like Super Monkey Ball, Pokemon, or Sonic games (especially the Chao Garden). I'm afraid I'm going to wake up one day, and...
Started playing my Metroid Prime Trilogy today. Therefore, I'm nominating the good ole Charge Beam. There it is, gleaming with light as you hold the A button. Power-ups come streaming right to you, like a moth to a bug-zapper. Suddenly, a Shriek-Bat is coming straight towards you! FWOOSH! SPLAT...
Quentin Tarentino + Stranglehold or Enter the Matrix = Wet
In my opinion, I played this game 10 years ago, and it was a pretty mediocre renting game back then. More so even now!
And really, Quick Time Events...AGAIN?! How many times must we complain about them until developers listen to us...
Yeah, this pretty much ends the thread. Heck, younglings can easily get access to cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc, and they've been able to do such for a long, long time. It's parent's responsibility to protect their kids, and nobody else's.
My experience was fairly positive. Oddly enough, I'm getting Deja-vu from Assault on Dark Athena. Crawling thru grates? Stealth kills. Staying in the dark, playing cat and mouse? Yeah...I'm pretty sure I've done this before...The regular combat was disappointing as well, seeing as it's been done...
So, there I was, sitting in the john, reading my latest copy of GameInformer. I started reading an article written by Andrew Reiner, GI's executive editor. In it, he discussed the idea of games that could play themselves. Here's a quote from his article:
I can't believe it. I'm almost...
The Nintendo 64 constructed many, if not most of the critically important gameplay elements that comprise gaming today. Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Mariokart 64, Mario Party, and even stuff like Conker's Bad Fur Day. Even looking at the games industry today...
