Affen's post reminded me that I recently tried to play through Link's Awakening (Gameboy cartridge), but discovered that the damn thing didn't save anything. Devastating. I've read up about replacing batteries and it seems straightforward enough, but I was wondering if you fine and extra-reliable folks here have done much of it. If so, are there any tips to be shared, or quirky behaviour observed during or after the process? I haven't attempted anything yet, and I'm wondering if I want to first practice on a game I don't care as much about, or just go for it. I'm not a stranger to soldering or electronics in general, but I really want to be cautious when fiddling with my beloved games.
Thanks!
